Chinese Premier Li Keqiang wants to see agreement on a free trade pact in east and Southeast Asia within two years, according to South China Morning Post, Li urged Asian nations to stick to their plan and complete talks on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) by the end of 2015. Li's remarks about the RCEP deal reflected Beijing's ambition to play a big role in integrating the fast-growing Asia-Pacific region.

The economies of developing East Asia and Pacific are projected to grow at 7.1 percent in 2013, down from 7.5 percent last year. In China, growth is moderating as the country rebalances to pursue a more sustainable growth path. In 2013, it is expected to meet the official indicative growth target of 7.5 percent.
