Bangladesh - India (Sylodium, Free international trade directory)

Bangladesh and India have chalked up a series of plans to boost bilateral trade by increasing capacities of 16 land customs stations and allowing car passes. “We want to implement the decisions in a practical and time-bound manner,” India’s Revenue Secretary Sumit Bose told a press briefing along with Bangladesh’s Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Mohammad Ghulam Hussain in Dhaka following a two-day meeting.

According to the minutes both sides also decided to exchange export-import related information like assessed value and weight of goods to cut pilferage in revenue, particularly for Bangladesh, by putting a stop to a wrong declaration of traded goods. Both the countries also agreed to keep open the customs offices at both sides of the major Benapole-Petrapole and Akhaura-Agartala land ports seven days a week to facilitate export-import activities.
