WrB Africa presents a vital channel into the African gaming market.

After a successful launch last year, World Regulatory Briefing Africa is back to offer a market leading, unrivalled agenda into the African gaming market.

For the second installment of WrB Africa, which will take place from June 7 to 8, organizer Clarion Gaming is bringing together leading operators based in East, West and Central Africa as well as the continent’s pioneering organizations to Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi in Kenya, where they will share knowledge on regulatory frameworks, new processes and gaming experience.

WrB Africa is the place to be

The African gaming market is booming, and the region’s key growth markets are attracting attention globally.

Sports betting revenue in South Africa, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers, has quintupled in the past five years, rising to 54% of total betting revenue in 2015 from just 22% in 2011, and PwC expects sports’ share to hit two-thirds by 2020. PwC expects sports betting, the only legally permissible form of online gambling in the country, will see a 10.7% compound annual growth over the next five years, putting its 2020 revenue projection at R7.4 billion.

Kenya, meanwhile, has become an attractive area for mobile business, thanks to the explosion of mobile users in the country and the evolution of mobile devices in the region.

At the WrB Africa, authorities, operators and international experts of the gaming industry will discuss strategies needed to profit from the rapid growth of the region. The event, developed for both domestic and international audiences, will cover topics such as anti-money laundering, sports integrity, the African regulatory landscape, payments, the move from retail to online and the benefits of responsible gaming.

Alessandro Fried, founder and chairman of BtoBet, will join “The Big Move: Retail to Online & Mobile” panel, which will focus on best practice for converting retail customers, the use of social media, infrastructure requirements, the customer experience and what it takes to offer an engaging in-play product.

Fried will also be on the Fireside Chat discussion, “Maximizing Your Retail Business,” which will explore business opportunities to boost the performance of the retail revenue channel courtesy of back-end technology and consumer products including FOBTs and virtual games.
